Compassionate VA-Approved In-Home Care for Veterans

At EmpathyKare, we proudly support our nation’s veterans with trusted in-home care through the VA Homemaker & Home Health Aide (H/HHA) Program. Many veterans are eligible for these services at little to no cost through their VA health benefits.

What the H/HHA Program Provides

Under the supervision of a VA nurse, trained caregivers assist veterans with:

Daily Living Support (ADLs):

  • Bathing, dressing, eating
  • Mobility and transfers
  • Toileting
  • Basic health monitoring and help with equipment

Home & Lifestyle Assistance (IADLs):

  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Meal preparation
  • Grocery shopping
  • Escorting to appointments

These services also offer respite—valuable relief time for family caregivers.

Cost of Care

The VA covers most in-home care costs. Many veterans receive services with no copay, depending on disability rating, income, and priority group. Care related to service-connected disabilities always has no copayment.

How Veterans Get Started

Once approved, the VA refers veterans to a community home care agency within its network. Additional insurance may help with any copayments, and the VA provides simple payment and financial assistance options.
